La Palette, sans croissants

On our last morning there was time for a final relaxing breakfast in the relatively fresh morning air. We'd hoped to try a bar just down the road, La Palette, which had looked appealing when we passed yesterday. But they were still awaiting their croissant delivery and annoyingly served me one (presumably not fresh), along with our coffees. After waiting a short while for a second croissant for Chris we told them we weren’t prepared to wait any longer and went back to the Bar du Marché as we knew we’d get a good breakfast there and could enjoy watching all the activity on the street!

Breakfast at the Bar du Marché

We allowed plenty of time to get to the Gare du Nord so were there far too early, even factoring in the extra time needed for passport control, post Brexit. Luckily we were able to find a comfortable spot to sit while waiting to board. Once on the train, which left on time, we had a pleasant journey with a nice lunch and wine included in our standard premier fare.

We arrived in a London almost as hot as Paris had been, and to a Tube journey home that was much hotter than the Metro!

Thanks Sally. We've actually been back from this trip for a while and since then I've been to Chicago and back for the VT meet there 😀
