The weather was stormy overnight and so, unfortunately was my stomach. Clearly something I’d eaten at the Relais de l’Entrecote had disagreed with me rather badly (I suspect the cream on my dessert). I was up and down to the bathroom all night so neither of us got much sleep and I was still feeling rough this morning. So our planned wedding anniversary celebrations had to be put on hold in favour of a much quieter day.

We did take a slow stroll down to the river along one of my favourite Left Bank streets, the Rue de Seine, and I summoned up the energy for a few street art shots.

We sat for a while by the Pont des Arts but really I still needed rest, so we went back to the hotel. I then sent Chris out on his own to enjoy a walk and some lunch while I had a nap.

In the evening I was feeling a little better, well enough for a light meal, so we went to the café in the Place Saint Sulpice for omelettes. As we finished our food the rain started and soon turned into a deluge! Even under the awning we got a little wet, while passers-by in the square got drenched.

But the rain soon cleared, and the flooded gutters drained quickly, so we were able to walk back to the hotel for a much needed early night.
